Summary: Data science experts will convene at the National Academies of Science for a day of in-depth discussions on governmental decision making. Primary objectives for this meeting include:
- Describing government, business, and Department of Defense applications of data analytics to inform decision-making;
- Calling attention to methodological and organizational challenges in using analyses based on complex data in a specific decision context;
- Providing a set of underlying principles that non-technical decision makers can recall when presented with new analyses.
