Summary: Data science experts will convene at Pew Charitable Trusts for a day of in-depth discussions on the various uses of analytics in improving public services and education. Primary objectives for this meeting include:
- Calling attention to opportunities for use of predictive analytics to improve human services, including education, youth and family services, and criminal justice;
- Identifying methodological challenges and opportunities to improve use of predictive analytics across diverse application domains;
- Discussing social, ethical, and legal dimensions of predictive analytics and call attention to tradeoffs between criteria such as accuracy, fairness, and transparency associated with predictive analytics;
