UPDATE: The March 18, 19 & 20 event is at capacity. We hope to have another RNA-Seq workshop in the near future. If interested, please register your information and we will contact you.
A call for graduate students and technicians working on Next Generation Sequencing projects ... Genomics Research Center (GSC) and Illumina are very excited to offer a hands-on, 3-day, RNA-Seq library prep workshop this March. A maximum of 16 attendees will be accepted on a first-come basis.
March 18, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., to Sai Karyala, the GSC lab manager, will provide lectures on Illumina’s technology and RNA-QC of attendee samples.
March 19, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Representatives from Illumina will provide hands-on RNA-Seq library prep training. Illumina will provide complimentary lunch.
March 20, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Representatives from Illumina will provide hands-on RNA-Seq library prep training. Illumina will provide complimentary lunch.
The attendees are encouraged to bring a maximum of 2 Eukaryotic total RNA samples at 50-100 ng/ul (10-20ul). The workshop will not accept Prokaryotic samples. The samples will be tested on Agilent TapeStation for RNA quality check. If you don't bring your own RNA, or your RNA fails QC, GSC will provide reference RNA for the hands-on training. Because the samples will be sequenced, it's strongly recommended that you bring your own samples, so you can do RNA-Seq data analysis.
