Dr. Samarth Swarup is currently attending the Sixteenth International Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems (AAMAS 2017) in Sao Paulo, Brazil from May 8-12, 2017. He will presenting a tutorial on generating synthetic populations for social modeling as well as presenting accepted papers. More details below:

A Second Tutorial on Generating Synthetic Populations for Social Modeling
This is a sequel to last year's tutorial, presented at AAMAS 2016 and IJCAI 2016, which introduced synthetic populations, the methodology for generating them, and some applications.

This year's tutorial will briefly recap the topics from last year, so prior knowledge of synthetic populations is not assumed, and will cover a range of topics beyond last year's tutorial, including population evolution, network modeling, and infrastructure modeling.

Accepted papers:

Contextual Ranking of Behaviors for Large-scale Multiagent Simulations
Nidhi Parikh, Madhav Marathe and Samarth Swarup

A Comparison of Targeted Layered Containment Strategies for a Flu Pandemic in Three US Cities
Shuyu Chu, Samarth Swarup, Jiangzhuo Chen and Achla Marathe
