The Biocomplexity Institute of Virginia Tech offers three locations for researchers to engage in their science. On the Blacksburg campus, enjoy all the facilities of a research university in a beautiful, small-town setting, or partake in the benefits afforded being part of the Corporate Research Center just off-campus.
Blacksburg has consistently been rated as one of the top 10 towns in America to raise a family and to find small-town employment.
If being closer to the heart of government is necessary for your work, Virginia Tech provides a fully equipped and staffed research center in Arlington.
Throughout the year, the Biocomplexity Institute of Virginia Tech provides many opportunities to network with colleagues both internally and on campus. Every morning and afternoon, researchers are encouraged to take a coffee break together.
Friday socials are a way for laboratories to interact with the institute at large. We also host an institute-wide annual picnic, an International Feast, and our Annual Chili Cook-Off, with proceeds going to the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign for local charities.
In addition, our conference center hosts seminars and lectures on relevant topics ranging from genomics to applying for federal funding.
